Happy to see a solution arose that was able to maintain internet connection while connected to the camera! Playing around with some of the above, the summary I've extracted from this is the following: #### Configuring Network Settings In network settings, not only do you need to make sure you "Manually" specify the IP address to something within the `169.254.XXX.XXX` range with a `255.255.0.0` subnet, but you need to **also make sure that the Router value** is set to the same. So for example, for me, this looks like: [upl-image-preview url=https://discuss.luxonis.com/assets/files/2023-12-15/1702662586-664062-image.png] You will then need to check/change the service order, found in the overflow menu here: [upl-image-preview url=https://discuss.luxonis.com/assets/files/2023-12-15/1702662741-704252-image.png] #### Case 1: With Dongle at *the TOP* of the service order If you set the dongle as the first-most item in the service order as described in my earlier answer, the issue becomes that MacOS also automatically sets it as the default route for your network traffic. In this case, you need to remove this entry from your routing table and add back your wifi (or wired) internet connection as the default. So, you would need to do: ``` >>> sudo route delete default -interface >>> sudo route add default ``` You need to add the second line even if your internet interface (e.g. eth0) appears at the top of the `nestat -nr` output. For some reason, these prior entries don't seem to kick in automatically when you remove the dongle as the default. Also, at least for me, it doesn't seem necessary to add any additional entries to route relevant traffic directly to the dongle if you do the above. #### Case 2: With Dongle at *the BOTTOM* of the service order An alternative solution is to do the opposite of what's recommended by my earlier reply and place the dongle at the *very* bottom of the service order. In this case, you need to add an additional entry to the routing table to route relevant traffic directly to the dongle. This simply requires a: ``` >>> sudo route add -net 169.254 -interface ``` **Personally, I much rather the second solution (Case 2), because the Oak-D has a tendency to completely disconnect and reconnect to the Mac if you run some pipeline and then exit - this means that you have to repeat the routing table changes every time. On the other hand, the change made with the second approach seems to persist across reconnects.**

First, could you check with a different ETH dongle? Your current one only supports 100Mbps speed which is very slow. I wouldn't recommend using it even if you manage to get it to work.

Well, you'd find out the subnet used by the device, then set the route for that subnet to the ETH dongle. The rest should be routed through the WIFI interface.
This was not tested and more of a hypothesis than an actual solution.

Hey. I have tried out your method:

It gave me the hexadecimal format and upon conversion, the subnet mask for the USB 10/100 LAN (en5) is 255.255.0.0 which corresponds to the subnet of the device:

Do you have anymore solutions?

Open device_manager.py on the newest depthai (2.23.0) on any machine you can connect to the device and flash the newest bootloader - 0.0.26 i think.

Then try if the issue is solved. Not sure why I didn't suggest this earlier.

Under danger zone, go to update bootloader.

Please run the device manager using python3 device_manager.py. It is a tool used to easily modify/update the bootloader.

When I now run device_manager.py, this is the output:

I then opened a new tab and ran Stereodepth and the first time this is the output:

After changing the service order, the stereo depth worked:

The issue is yet not fixed as I still have to change the service order.

If you change the service order, where the ETH dongle is on top MACOS will send the packets with destination 168.254.1.222 to that dongle first.
For the rest of the traffic, it should get routed to the WIFI. That way your internet should still be able to work even when using the dongle. I tested this myself on the MBP m1 Sonoma.
