I present to you my (soon to be) autonomous drone! It’s currently under developement, the goal is to have it navigate unknown environments thanks to LiDAR sensing capabilities and depth information from the OAK-D series 2. The cameras capabilities will also be exploited for object recognition and spatial manipulation with a still to be developed gripper. So excited to keep on working with it!!

Parking lot occupancy applications are most demanded in smart cities. We at National University of Sciences and Technology (NUST) . Building a system to simply parking facilities to drivers and saving their time.
and using Luxonis #OAK-D Cameras with edge ML, are best fit for this application.

We have built a solution for safety and security applications with OAK - D - Lite as well.
Including Safety Helmet Detection for Construction Industries worker safety and Face Mask Detection for pharmaceutical manufacturing industry for doctors safety as well.

and Won a National Level Prize as well.
    Project Name: Eyes For Humanity

here is our OAK - D Setup as well.

Robotic-Arm Vision for parallelization using OAK - D

Search and Rescue Drone using OAK - D - Pro.

In this Project, we are using Raspberry Pi 4 Based Drone Coex-Clover while integrating OAK - D - Pro for complete search and rescue automation.

My Next move is automating all these (see pictures below) things in my Lab
with other versions of OAK - D.

Introducing a cutting-edge solution for staff room management - our face recognition system powered by the Luxonis camera. This innovative system, using the OAK-D model, is designed to improve the organization and security of university departments and similar environments. The Luxonis camera, with its advanced features, offers a comprehensive solution for staff room management. The OAK-D model is equipped with object detection, face recognition, and depth sensing capabilities, all powered by AI for real-time, accurate results.

The system logs the names of individuals who enter the staff room, along with the date and time of their entry. As people enter, the Luxonis camera greets them by name, adding a personalized touch. It also detects and marks the attendance of teachers, making it easier for administrators to keep track of who is present.

In the event of an unknown individual entering the staff room, the Luxonis camera takes a snapshot with the date and time, allowing administrators to quickly identify potential security threats.

The Luxonis camera-powered face recognition system is a versatile and efficient solution for staff room management. Whether you aim to improve organization, and security, or create a welcoming environment, the Luxonis camera has you covered.

The Red bounding box shows that it will detect persons within the red Box because we are suing only for the people who will enter from the door only.

Tradeshow model: Automatic stockpile detection and volume computation

We have built a showcase to give a hands-on experience for our industry and construction customers to play with gravel and sand and have the computer automatically detect stockpiles, compute area/volume and speak the results out loud.

We are offering a similar service on large scale with drone flights -> UAV data acquisition, processing, offering data on a platform, automatically detect stockpiles in data and compute volumes in 3D point cloud data.

Infrastructure assessment: Live recognition of traffic/car density and detection of dents, potholes, irregularities with IMU

Prototype stage of gathering infrastructure data like traffic density or road quality indications from an IMU. Potentially will be integrated in some research projects of evaluating live car data with additional sensors.
Implemented with a RPi and touch screen. Data is saved live with dm-accurate GPS data to be mapped in GIS applications.

Circus performer tracking tripod mount. Uses a custom object detection net to track a performer and apparatus. Feeds in to an algorithm that attempts to make human-like pans based on past, current, and a prediction of future movement. The pan tilt is an off the shelf motorized pan/tilt with the electronics replaced by a raspberry pi 3b+.

It can run fully autonomous or if a keyboard/mouse/screen are attached tracking parameters can be tweaked/calibrated for different lens setups.
