What would be required to upgrade the Vizion 33D TOF sensor to the more powerful 63D?

@erik 🙂 Looking for support of these in RVC4. Regards! Much more application can be addressed in future if LUXONIS Consider this.

@MarkLane @SamiUddin we're already exploring the option to "upgrade" it (likely for OAK4 devices), though the main benefit is the onboard isp, I don't think accuracy is much different.

    Thanks @erik. That'd be great.

The 33D doesn't quite have enough range for my application.

Upgrading to the 63D would help the RVC4 outshine other longer range TOF cams like Vzense and Helios2, which I am currently trying to move away from.

SamiUddin well.. it's a VGA sensor (tiny format - 1/9").. Is FPS current bottleneck for your application?

erik YES, I also aim to use the sensor in railway track monitoring, for rail gauge measurement, data recording vehicle speed is 40Km/hr. so Much better FPS of point cloud are required. Anyway POC can be done with 30 FPS as well.

@SamiUddin afaik OV9282 can get you 120fps even on 800P. StereoDepth speed (on RVC2) itself will be the bottleneck if you want to get pointcloud, so perhaps you'd rather use 400p?

erik may I ask if the new OAK4 cameras can be upgraded with the 63D TOF sensor?

      Thanks,

Hi @MarkLane , we're looking into 63D for the upcoming OKA4 ToF camera, but nothing is set in stone yet.
      Best, Erik

      Thanks @erik, great news there!
I can't tell you how many applications this would open-up for us, as most bulk material warehouses are 9-10m tall, the additional range would allow us to mount cameras on the ceiling/rafters and open-up many more applicable sites for our projects.
