• 360 degrees SLAM using LUXONIS OAK-FFC-6P

I need to integrate a drone with depth vision to get SLAM for 360 degrees (i.e. to cover the whole surroundings)

First:
If I use the LUXONIS OAK-FFC-6P board -which has onboard SLAM support- then I can use Just 3 OAK-FFC-OV9282 pairs (6 single cameras)…my question is this is enough to cover the 360 degrees?&how?
or is there any other customized solution to increase number of cameras supported?

Second:
I need to know the positioning update rate of this board

Finally:
What kind of data we get from the supported SLAM ..is it Point cloud, mesh or what?

    Hi ReemOthman

    1. I believe the best option would be to use Wide FOV camera sensors (OAK-FFC-OV9282-W), so you would get closer to the full 360deg FOV. I also believe that the fastest way to try out VIO/SLAM would be to use RAE, which we are currently shipping. It has wide FOV stereo pair in front and on the back of the robot.
    2. We have VIO+SLAM (positioning) demo here running on RAE. ame would apply for OAK-FFC-6P, as both are RVC3-based devices.
    3. It would be pointcloud, but you could do some processing to get mesh as well.
