Hello! I am looking for a camera that can withstand a large temperature range (ideally -40-50C). Do any of your models continue to perform (take RBG images + sense depth) in a large temperature range?

Thank you so much Erik, this is incredibly useful.

It looks like your camera may be perfect for our application. I am curious what you think is the best way to go about selecting the proper camera model. Based on temperature, it seems like the OAK-D-Lite may not work, but there are a handful of other options that may meet our requirements.

      Hi LeoraKorn ,
I agree, I would rather select OAK-D S2 or OAK-D-Pro (if active stereo would be preferred), as these 2 models have larger heatsinks/fins compared to the OAk-D-Lite.

This is also very important for us. While the VPU might be rated at -40C, other components might not. Has this camera been actually tested at -40C? I have tested various electronics systems and many will fail at these temperatures unless they were specifically designed to operate in this range.

Hi @SG1 , it has not been tested at -40C, lowest we tried was -25C (very cold winter). Not many customers require such low temps, that's why we haven't done tests below that. If there's a business opportunity, please send us an email to support@luxonis.com and we could do additional tests/certifications with 3rd party labs.
      Thanks, Erik

Thanks for the fast response Erik. -25C is actually good enough for our application. Thanks again.
