Hi ManjiriNerurkar ,
Unfortunately I can't reproduce this issue, and I also don't have the exact same HW. My best suggestion is trying on other HW (cable, adapter, phone..), as Android integration is community support only.
Thanks, Erik

    Hi erik ,

Thank you so much for your support.
We understand that reproducing this issue would be a challenge.
We just have a request if it is possible for you to test the app with OAK-D Pro W camera.
This would help us a lot.

    Thanks,
    Manjiri

Another thing, I didn't use the Y-adapter, perhaps you could try powering the OAK directly from the Android phone? As this could also be a power issue. Testing with OAK-D Pro W should be exactly the same as with the OAK-D S2.
    Thanks, Erik

      Hi erik ,

We have tried every possible scenario that could help us solve this issue.
We changed the cable as you suggested, tried with different android devices like OnePlus 6 (android version 11), Samsung Galaxy S9 (android version 10), Samsung Galaxy M32 (android version 12).
We also tried without using y-adaptor and connecting the camera directly to android phone. But none of them is working.
The only option remains is someone from your team checking the app with OAK-D Pro W.
We understand that OAK-D Pro W is exactly the same as OAK-D S2 and we also understand that android integration is community support only. But it would really help us if you could support us in this.
If you have someone from your team in India, we are ready to ship our camera to them for checking if needed.
Thank you so much for your support.

        Hi ManjiriNerurkar ,
I would suggest compiling the android app and debugging it directly (debugging over WiFi after uploading the app to the phone). Please share error logs when debugging the app and we will be able to help.
        Thanks, Erik

          Hi ManjiriNerurkar ,
I apologize for the inconvenience, but after communicating with management we have decided to drop support for Android, as it's very rarely used by our customers. We might re-support it in the future though. In case your project purely depends on Android support and would like a refund, please send an email to support@luxonis.com.
          Kind regards, Erik

            Hi Erik...

Since official support for Android has been abandoned for the time being, is it ok if I take this source code and run with it for a while? I had planned on connecting to my Oak-D S2 PoE camera by wifi. My camera is on the same local network as my phone. If those python demos are able to accomplish this, I don't see any reason why this is not achievable on the mobile platform. It looks like, upon initial glimpse of the source code, we had only imported the core library. Please advise if I am mistaken.

btw: Notwithstanding no longer providing support for Android, what type of adapter do you recommend in order to successfully run that Android demo, anyway? Are you able to share a link to buy that adapter when you have time?

Thanks, and have a great day!

              Hi CoachRoebuck ,
Yes of course - just like with IOT line, we still sell those models and people are still using them, we just don't provide any support for it. Someone would likely need to debug some issues in Android Studio, and due to low customer interest we have decided that it's community support only.

I believe any not-the-absolute-cheapest USB3 USB-A to USB-C would work, but we have used this one and it worked as expected.

              Thanks, Erik

              hi ManjiriNerurkar

At the end, did you get any good result from your test? i am experiencing something similar using Oak-D-Pro W. Would be good if you can give me some hints.

              Thanks,

              Renato
