  • Question about Utilization of OAK series

Hi,

We have some question about OAK series.

  1. We would like to know the schedule when we can test the series 3 development board (Keem Bay based).
  2. Is there a way to get video data from RGB camera at the same time as ToF data?
  3. Can you share the results of the depth performance test outdoors?
  4. Is there any way to pass the video data along with the result of deeplearning algorithm in wifi or bluetooth enabled model?

Best regards,
Ryan.

    Hello RyanLee ,

    1. See Keem Bay roadmap here. So these will likely be in beta stage in Q3 this year.
    2. Yes, you can use OAK-FFC-pToF to get ToF depth data, and eg. OAK-FFC-IMX378 for color frames. You would then just sync these 2 streams to get the at the same time.
    3. We have only done depth tests in controlled environment (indoors), see results here. In uncontrolled environment (eg. outdoors), depth quality extremely varies based on factors like lighting and texture.
    4. I would suggest streaming AI results/video streams to host computer (eg. RPI 4b, or RPI Zero W) and then to some other computer via WIFI/Bluetooth. As a note, Series 3 OAK cams will be able to have wifi connectivity on the camera itself (depends on the hardware model, but it will be possible).

    Thanks, Erik
