The device needs to have flash memory in order to run it in standalone mode. USB devices like OAK-1, OAK-D, etc. don't have flash memory, so they can't run in standalone mode. Even if they could run in standalone mode, you would still need to power it via USB-C cable and use USB-C for communication with the outside world (in contrast, OAK IOT can communicate via WiFI/Bluetooth and OAK PoE can communicate via PoE - TCP/UDP/HTTP...).
