I received my pre-sale Oak-D Pro 4 camera and the Y-Adapter is a problem. I am trying to use the camera on Windows 11 using the SDK example app using the "camera_all" example. Everything builds fine but the camera is not found. I believe the problem is the Y-Adapter because none of the USB-C plugs on the adapter can connect properly. The adapter cannot go into the USB-C slot in the back of the camera and the power and PC camera cable cannot be inserted all the way into the back of the Y-Adapter. I have worked with USB-C for years and I have never seen a USB-C connector that does not go in all the way but with the Y-Adaper, none of the USB-C connectors can go in. Can anyone explain what I should do? I have read that PoE might work but all of my RGBD cameras (all the major vendors - RealSense, Azure, Orbbec) just connect to USB-C. The Y-Adapter came with the camera so I don't have any alternatives to try there. Bob Davies

Hey @"bobdavies2000"#3485, Sorry to hear you’re having trouble with your camera. It sounds like the Y-adapter isn’t seating fully in your Oak-D Pro 4. Could you also try connecting the camera directly to your PC using a USB3 (blue) USB-C cable, bypassing the Y-adapter, and see if it’s detected? Most PC hosts can power the camera directly over USB. @"OskarSonc"#p30801 I am just now seeing this. The camera in the image is a Oak D Pro - not an Oak 4 D Pro. I tried using the Y-connector on the Oak 4 D Pro and it didn't help. I bought a NetGear GS305P POE+ switch to get the power to the Oak 4 D Pro and I am getting a blinking blue light on the front. This is supposed to indicate that it is ready for setup. When I open it in the Oak Viewer it finds the device but hitting "Connect" reports that the device is not setup. I tried "Oakctl start-setup" without success as well. Error message was "Incoming stream encountered an IO error." Yikes this is hard but I am determined to get it working. Any advice on how to proceed? Bob Davies

So for OAK 4 Pro I would suggest you follow our guide for getting started: https://docs.luxonis.com/hardware/platform/deploy/oak4-deployment-guide/oak4-getting-started/ The recommended way to connect to your camera is through PoE+ cable, the Y-connector is not supported. If you want to connect with ADB you need to power camera with PoE+ also... If your device is old, I would suggest updating the software with oakctl, you can find how to on the page I shared under troubleshooting/Blue light does not behave as expected. Thanks, Oskar

Oskar - thanks for the link. I reviewed it and the difference from my experience is that when I connect the camera to the the POE+ switch, I get a blinking blue light instead of a solid blue. However, the Oak Viewer does see the device. When I click on the device, I get 2 messages - Device is not setup. The messages have a "Report Error" which I clicked on to send an email reporting the error.

Thanks for the info on the USB connection. I won't bother trying to get that path working but I am stuck on getting the POE access to work. The camera was an early release version and may not behave the same as the latest versions. I tried the oakctl approach as well and got the error: "incoming stream encountered an IO error (TLS connect): tls handshake eof". So the 2 methods of getting the camera to work are both failing. Any recommendations? Bob Davies

I should have added that the Oak Viewer finds and uses my Oak 3 D Pro camera working. But the problem is with this Oak 4 D Pro camera: https://shop.luxonis.com/products/oak-4-d-ea?variant=46428692381919 It should be noted that the link still shows that the USB3 is supported. I had purchased the F-Sync Y connecter thinking that was all I needed. Bob Davies

I just found the reset button and tried that only to find that the camera now has no light showing on the front. Is there a process describing how to use the reset button?

So a blinking blue light instead of a solid blue one means you have an older version of software installed on the camera... You will have to do a system update, follow the tutorial here: https://docs.luxonis.com/software-v3/sw-stack/luxonis-os/ First try with oakctl. You can run `oakctl device update`, if it doesn't work, you will need to perform the Full OS Flash, which is also documented in the link I send... If you have any more questions, let me know.

I read that I should hold the button for 10 seconds and I tried that as well so I should be back to the factory reset. The light did not return so I disconnected from the 30W POE switch after which the flashing blue light came back. Any ideas? Bob Davies

Hm, okay, I think we found the problem:

Windows 11 limitation
oakctl device flash currently doesn't work on Windows 11 because the tool ships an unsigned WinUsb driver that the OS rejects for security reasons. Flashing still works on Windows 10 and we're actively working on resolving this.

Do you maybe have a computer with winows 10 or linux? If not I will ask the team if there is any other option...

I found a Windows 10 system but no USB-c connector. I will continue to look for another system.

I support the Oak 3 Pro with my software and I have been hoping to upgrade to your latest camera but there is no commitment to any user.

I am willing to wait until you have a signed USB driver. Is there a schedule for that to happen?
