Recovery of bricked unit

We have a second device (which I won't upgrade despite the recommendation). oakctl on it indicates "Luxonis OS RVC4 1.8.0". I wonder why the web page cited above linked to the older v1.6.0, moreover a debug version.

The sha256 sum of the downloaded file luxonis_os_rvc4_debug-1.6.0.tar.xz is 38e269dabbce36802d714c65fe48209a26858be4dfa358809d674a08b91400a6.

Sorry for the troubles, we will update the documentation to point to the latest OS, I fear that you own an R7 OAK4-D, which will not boot on the old OS.

However, even though they will not boot into linux, you should still be able to boot into fastboot and re-flash your device from there.

Here are the detailed steps to enter into fastboot mode:

Plug out all cables from the camera
Hold down the factory reset button on the back of the device
Plug in the USB-C while holding the button down
Plug in the PoE M12 cable
After a few seconds release the factory reset button.
The device should now be discoverable via fastboot devices
6.1 If it's discoverable, move on to: I have a device which boots into fastboot (discoverable via fastboot devices )
6.2 If the device is not discoverable via fastboot devices mode, perform the steps above again, but this time flip the USB-C cable orientation. (only one orientation works)

From here you can enter EDL mode using:
fastboot oem edl
Then proceed to flash the latest OS , using the commands below:

sudo ./qdl --storage ufs --include build/flat-luxonis-debug/ build/flat-luxonis-debug/xbl_s_devprg_ns.melf build/flat-luxonis-debug/rawprogram*.xml build/flat-luxonis-debug/patch*.xml

I tried all combinations plug ethernet before/after releasing reset and flipping the USB-C cable on the device side / PC side but didn't manage to see any device with fastboot devices.

Sorry to hear that, the only other solution would be to open up the device to access the boot button to re-flash the device.

Please submit an RMA form here to exchange/refund the bricked device, and link this forum discussion in the RMA form to make the process smoother.

I finally got a chance to try this. I did make some progress with the detailed instructions to enter the factory reset mode, but failed to have the device discovered via fastboot devices. By following the instructions, the device did show up via lsusb though (see that a qualcomm device now shows up). Anything further I should do with this new information? Otherwise I can submit the rma form.

Thanks @Douglas for the detailed post. The device you're seeing through lsusb, is the OAK4 device in Sahara mode, please submit an RMA form and we will get you sorted asap.

Hello there I am facing a similar problem with my oak4 d camera I dont have an ethernet internet connect on the device just wifi on my laptop, I can ping to the device ssh into it and all its also listing in adb but when i run any program with depth ai while also specifying its ip it shows no devices detected. I dont know what to do now, also keep in mind I cant get ethernet connected to the camera in any way ,now is there a reason why this problem exists. The camera is all fully set up with blue light ok

@jakaskerl Can you describe me the procedure to re-flash the device? Maybe it's easier and quicker than sending the camera back? Thank you.
