Hi Luxonis team,
we are trying to use the OAK-D Pro PoE camera with a computer running Ubuntu 24. Our setup is as follows:
The camera is powered via an M12 PoE connector.
It is connected to the computer using an Ethernet cable and an Ethernet-to-USB adapter.
The computer has a static IP address set to 169.254.1.10.
The camera uses its default IP address 169.254.1.222.
We can successfully ping the camera from the computer; all packets are transmitted and received correctly.
We have set up a Docker container with ROS 2 Humble and the relevant Luxonis ROS packages (e.g., depthai_ros_driver). However, when launching camera.launch.py, we repeatedly see the following messages in a loop:
No devices detected by autodiscovery, trying to connect to camera via IP: 169.254.1.222
Connecting to the camera using ip: 169.254.1.222
Here is what we have already checked or tried:
The firewall (sudo ufw status) is inactive.
We disconnected all other network interfaces (including WiFi) and left only the connection to the camera active, testing both with direct Ethernet and with the Ethernet-to-USB adapter, to rule out any network conflicts.
The camera bootloader is up to date (version 0.0.28). We also performed a factory reset, which was reported as successful, but the camera information shown in device_manager.py remained unchanged.
Despite these steps, the software is unable to detect or connect to the camera via ROS, even though the camera is reachable via ping.
Do you have any suggestions on what else we could try, or is there a known issue with this setup?
Thank you for your support!
