Could we make RAE open-source?

As it is clear that Luxonis support for RAE is deprecated (I guess mostly because of the issues w/ the Intel Keem Bay platform in general, and OpenVINO support for Keem Bay is set as deprecated and was removed from OpenVINO since the 2024.5 release), it would be great if Luxonis made the source files for RAE public/open-source (like Yocto projects, or anything else really). It would make RAE hardware more useful then what it currently is and makes it easier for external collaboration. This would make it much easier to have community contributions that are completely off the Luxonis hands, and allows for a community to move on with the hardware.

Could we have that?

Issue is we are bound by the Intel IP so we can't release the FW unfortunately.

Maybe there are diagrams / other kinds of resources that would not be bound to Intel IP that could be shared? The goal is mostly to reduce the effort required to reverse-engineer things.

Regarding the diagrams/PCB - we already have assembly available luxonis/depthai-hardwaretree/master/DM3370_RAE. But we can't release the RVC3 SOM files.

We will revisit this later to possible add another layer of opensource so it is easier to develop on the device.

It would be great if you could provide access to the device tree source files (.dts/.dtsi) and/or the compiled device tree blob (.dtb) specific to RAE (to know how the hardware peripherals are configured and integrated with the kernel).

Is there any public repository with these?

Is there any documentation on how to create custom images for RAE? (to be flashed using the process that is already documented)
