  • Is this product and company done?

I sent an email to support 3 days ago and have yet to receive a response. I also see that there are barely replies/people active in this forum. I have tried everything to get my RAE device connected to the robothub and even just my wifi, and can't get it done. The most help I have gotten is from the AI, and one reply, in which the information was still incorrect. I was excited to get to work with this, and start working on some projects with it, but now I am wondering if this company even really exists anymore.

I have also seen 2 posts asking something similar, and the answer's aren't great at all. Who can help either get my device working, replaced, or just returned.

Forum is pretty active and the company is fine, but the RAE was discontinued as the product had major issues since it was based on the RVC3 chip... Most of the folks working on this are not at Luxonis anymore so we have no one to really support it properly :/. I can answer some general questions, but don't really have expertise on the RAE OS/FIP level.

In any case, you can ask at support@luxonis.com for a refund.

    I just wanted to get it connected to the robothub. Can I do this without the QR code? The AI gives me different steps each time I ask it a question. But if there isn't a way to make that happen, are there other places/ways for me to connect it? I was pretty excited to work with it, and see what I could learn, so a return is a last resort.

    Did you follow this guide (manual setup)? You should be able to connect it to local WIFI and then spin up the hub agent to connect to robothub.

        jakaskerl I have tried to, but when I get to editing /etc/systemd/network/20-wifi.network, the file is blank. So I write it out and save it, run the commands to update and restart. Nothing happens. It just sits there, still saying register at robothub.luxonis.com

        I also tried to factory reset using SSH. Finally got it to go through. Now it just sits on the RAE screen.

            Which OS? cat /etc/os-release. Now that it sits on the RAE screen, can you connect it to a WIFI?

              jakaskerl Curious if luxonis is going to axe any future ROS based learning robot or if theres any future plans?

                  No plans at the moment as far as I know (at least until series 4 is out and polished), but we aren't abandoning any ideas either.
