External sync example script?

I am trying to enable an external sync input to an Oak-d LR. and I have found limited documentation. The release notes mention that HW sync is enabled for this device. The Frame synchronization page says it is possible.

I have worked through the schematic and believe I need a 12V square wave input fed into the "COMAUXIO2" pad, which feeds into fsin1, fsin2, and fsin3. Finding the driving input voltage was difficult. Finding the fsync pin on the schematic was not straight forward. I could not verify which GPIO pin was connected to fSyncIn?

I am trying to test the external trigger and I have not found a complete example or enough documentation to accomplish a snapshot style trigger. The Frame synchronization page mentions "CameraControl.setExternalTrigger()". I could not find an example of setting the external trigger. I also could not find an example of how to get the image out of the queue?

Are there any example or help that could be provided to enable an external sync input?

Voltage: 1.8V
GPIO: MX46 and MX49 are both connected to it
Script (not for LR out of the box):

There is a header on the board which exposes the line.

I am running the code you provided. The cv2.imshow starts streaming the color and monoleft camera immediately after running the program. I have not hooked up the trigger but the camera is streaming at ~30fps. *

I have not triggered the external sync pin(com*aux_io2) high or low. The pin is floating/NC.

I am hoping to get the camera to capture 1 image for 1 external sync trigger, similar to the video on the Frame sync page. any idea?

Looks like I needed to pull the pin low to stop the stream.
