Hi Harold,
I'm by far not an expert and just a beginner user with the OAK-D-Lite.
But here's the FAQ from Kickstarter:
Can OAK-D-Lite be powered off of USB3?
Yes. USB3 devices can provide 900mA at 5V, which is enough for most use-cases. However, some functions (e.g., inference, video encoding) can add to large current spikes, so there’s a chance your host won’t be able to provide enough power (this applies mostly to hosts like RPi). In that case, you would need to use a power adapter.
And from my own experience (running OAK-D-Lite) with a Raspberry Pi:
I have the power connector (USB-C splitter, one cable for power, one for connection with USB3.0 cable to Raspberry Pi). I haven't tried yet to have it work on the RPi without the USB splitter, so not sure for which edge cases it works (or does not work).
