• RAE
  • rae battery issue

Hi

We had a problem with the rae's battery so we removed it and we attached a power supply for it. And then the board light comes on, but the rae screen does not appear on the LCD.

Attach photos.

And I have a few questions as below.

1. What is the rae input voltage range? I would like to inquire whether it is possible to input a voltage higher than 4.2v from an existing lithium-ion battery and to what extent it is possible (until how higher voltage can be acceptable I mean).

2. I purchased and connected a commercially available lithium polymer (5000mAh 3.7V) and the rae screen came on, but the battery did not charge through the rae port and discharged faster than the existing battery. Can you give me some advice on this?

3. What should I do if I connect the power supply and input up to 3.4v, but the rae screen does not appear?

4. Can I find out the status information for each LED on the board? (The board is dead, but I have no way of knowing if only power is coming in.)

Best regards,

Ryan.

    Hi RyanLee
Try the testing points for 5V, 11V and 3.3V to see if you are getting correct levels.

I tested the charging voltage between + and - terminals to 4V (a bit more) on a pretty much depleted battery.

    • STATUS, BMC_SYS and PG_GOOD LEDs are for charging (BMC circuit)
    • LED-2 is for operation (blinking)
    • BB-SYS is for power delivery

    Thanks,
    Jaka
