Hi, I am using an Oak-D S2 POE camera and have programmed a script node to function as a TCP client connecting to an external server. When run on a Python host, it operates and connects normally. However, I am encountering difficulties in attempting to flash the Pipeline into the camera to enable it to work in Standalone mode. I have used the Python code command **`bootloader.flash()`**, both with and without compression, but I keep getting an error saying 'not enough memory'. I've tried creating a dap file, both compressed and uncompressed, and then uploading it via the device manager, but that hasn't worked either. I also tested other examples, such as an HTTP server, and faced the same issue. Even creating a basic pipeline for flashing into the camera was unsuccessful. The dap file I created is 24.4MB in size, which reduces to 9.7MB after compression. I would like to know why I'm unable to flash the pipeline into the camera. Even a small pipeline cannot be flashed for standalone mode. Hi @"KunpakonBamrungkit"#2095 Check with https://docs.luxonis.com/projects/api/en/latest/samples/bootloader/bootloader_version/#bootloader-version. This will tell you how much EMMC memory you have on the device. It has to be in GB magnitude, otherwise it will not work. Thanks, Jaka

Does this imply there is no EMMC storage? Is this the case for all S2 POE models? I observed in the product details that it mentions having flash memory capable of standalone mode. Even in the documents, the S2 POE model is explicitly mentioned again.

If running the script produces results indicating no EMMC, does that mean it cannot operate in standalone mode?

If standalone mode is possible, what pipeline configuration is suitable for that small Flash Memory space? Considering the available space, it seems unlikely to be feasible.

If your device doesn't have EMMC, then standalone mode is not possible. There is 16MB of flash, so that is not going to work either. If you desperately need to run in standalone mode, write to support@luxonis.com and we will replace your device with one that has the storage. Make sure to explicitly ask for it.

S2 POE should have EMMC, but due to some supply constraints during covid, some devices lack EMMC I think.

Hi Jaka, jakaskerl. I hope you are doing great. That was also a problem for us. The company recently purchased Oak-D S2 POE cameras. Using this code: https://docs.luxonis.com/projects/api/en/latest/samples/bootloader/bootloader_version/#bootloader-version, I was able to verify the EMMC memory of 4 pcs of OAK-D S2 POE cameras and 1 pc of OAK-D W POE. The results indicated that there was no EMMC memory available. If this issue exists, how can it be solved? Since I also find it unbelievable that they lack of EMMC memory which we really need to make a standalone mode, please let me know if there is anything I can do. If you want to confirm, you can access my device remotely.

Hi @Marc ,
Did you flash latest bootloader on them already (0.26), and are using latest depthai version (2.25)? Especially latest bootloader version is required for EMMC discovery.

erik. Hi Eric, thank you so much for your reply. I tried it again on one Oak-D S2 POE camera, and I will try it again on the other Oak-D camera with the latest depthai version. @Marc Looking again, it does seem you have 64MB flash memory. Is that not enough for your particular application?

@erik I've received an OAK-D-S2-AF-PoE and my device is saying no EMMC available. I'm just confused with the above comments, for the device to run standalone does it require EMMC? And should the device my customer purchased have EMMC?

I don't think these devices even have EMMC. The pro variants have 64MB of flash, but I have tested a few and not one device had EMMC.
You can try flashing apps to it by setting compress=True.
