RAE roadmap?

Hello! It is planning to release something from that was showed on KS? Like iOS native RAE controlling app, ADVANCED mapping, home patrolling mode?

maybe some roadmap? or now its all on community?

Its little sad for that price have 1 semi working app and broken even basic functions like firmware update from robothub that must be easy one click solution to world of ready to use apps in app store. No guides, no apps, no activity, and possible that not gonna happen.

ps It is possible to upgrade storage of RAE? And it is possible to set led light mode gradient like? Not a single color?

Current focus is SLAM and then improving of perpherals (mostly audio nodes)/motors. So far we dont have exact roadmap as we are facing one significant blocker but when we get that sorted, we will probably be able to give pretty decent estimates when new functionalities will be out.

there will be additional functionality in web form - expanding the existing RAE - Default app with map (SLAM) and navigation (go to point on map)
which we plan to open source to guide users on how to develop their own apps

FW update is one-click install from RH platform. The reason you are not seeing any pending updates is because there are none at the moment. Latest FW to my knowledge is 1.12.
As for storage upgrades, AFAIK it is not possible to upgrade it at this time.

It is possible to control each LED separately in ROS directly - granted idk how useful that is to users who are not advanced ones. Future apps will generally involve LEDs as sending a message (like taking a turn, close to the wall,...).

jakaskerl … Thanks for the update … Are you able to provide any further details on the "one significant blocker" ? … you have a community of thousands of minds wishing Rae to shine … who could help solve problems … it has so much potential.

Could the USB port not be used for storage ? … an external USB SSD ?

New apps and features will be available with the new frontend update (sometime next week I believe). I can assure you the team is working on developing apps/examples for rae.
