Why is the preview greyed out in Robohub for a device?

@ianC It's because the robot runs some application and the application "owns" the camera - if the application provides some preview, you will find it in the robot app detail page.

OK I uninstalled the App and now the button has turned blue for "video Preview", but when I press the button I get a popup saying "Device has no Preview Stream yet".

I looked at the below video, and it seems to indicate that as soon as you have the device registered, then it should be active to stream.

Could you tell me how to enable the preview?

    Hi ianC
    Try going to the "Settings" (on the robot details) - then disabling the "built-in application" - waiting few seconds - then enabling it again.

    Let me know if it works.

    Thanks,
    Jaka

      I have the same problem. I have also unsuccessfully tried what jakaskerl

      • connectionStatus == identifying

      • status == success

      • product == unknown (unknown)

      • serial and name have identical values, but are both populated

        Is the product not being known an issue?

        Hi albert
        Sorry for late response,

        1. make sure there are no pending updates for the agent (orange button)
        2. Can you provide your teamId? That would allow us to investigate what the case it is

        Thanks,
        Jaka

        @jakaskerl :

        1. With regards to pending updates, looks like I am all up to date, but please confirm. No new requests to update visible.

        2. Agent: 23.353.848 (released 12 days ago)

        3. v24.2.1614-production

        4. where can I find the teamID?

          I have searched for documentation on teamID here https://docs-beta.luxonis.com/deploy/robothub/.

        5. FWIW -- After a recent update, the Status is constantly in a state of "Identifying". While the "Video Preview" is now selectable, an error dialog of "Device has no preview stream yet" presents itself. See attached.

        @albert its correct / expected that Video Preview is grayed out if you have the device assigned to some app

        when you unassign/uninstall the app - the "Video Preview" becomes available
        that you see no preview stream yet & identifying means that the "default" application that runs in the background is likely still downloading/installing - not running - and as such device wasn't identified

        you don't need to wait for this to finish - simply install some app you want and the video is then under Live View tab of said app
