OAK-1 W Factory reset

Hello,

I have bricked my OAK-1 W - it doesn't seem to have the dip switches anymore. What's the process to factory reset this device?

This link mentions a button on the baseboard, but it's not clear what steps are required to factory reset. I see two buttons on the baseboard by the way.

Hmm I can answer my own question - hopefully it helps others.

You can use the USB-C on the baseboard + hold down the button nearest the USB-C connector on power up.
Then use device_manager.py found here to locate your device and factory reset it.

It would be good to understand if there are other ways to perform this though - thanks for any insights!*

I don't think OAK-1-W even has any flash memory, on which you could perform factory reset. It only has eeprom (for calibration), but it doesn't have bootloader, as it doesn't support POE/standalone mode anyways.

Hey Erik, thanks for the response. I'm having a hard time understanding your post - I was able to factory reset via the above method.

If a user accidentally sets the IP to static and some random address - how are you recommending they reset their device on the OAK-1 W?

Setting the IP on USB devices such as OAK-1 W shouldn't do anything since they do not support connection via ethernet. They are found only when connected by USB to a host machine.

Argh - this is where the miscommunication is coming from. My mistake, this whole time, I've been referring to the OAK-1 W PoE.

Yes, I figured as much 🙂. With a POE device, you can use the device manager to reset it.
