IMX-378 sensor with FFC3 or FFC4 video is very lagging

Hello there,

I have tried my code with the OAK-1 out-of-box module, to get the 4k video, and it's coming good.

But when I try it with IMX-378 with FFC3 or 4, it lags a lot, and the video on display is very slow.

How can I solve this problem ??

Does the issue persist at lower resolutions? Also what exactly do you mean by lag - is the video feed behind, does it stutter, does it freeze at times?

lag means the video is super slow. It doesn't freeze, but yes video feed is behind.

video is real-time at 1080_P

but if I try my same on OAK_1 module with 4K resolution there is NO LAG.

only problem when I try the same thing with IMX-378 and FFC3

Seems like the cable is unable to provide the bandwidth or the processing is the bottleneck here. Can you add a MRE of the code that you are using that lags?

You could try the same usb you are using with OAK-1, now with FFC3
try running DEPTHAI_LEVEL=DEBUG python3 [name of script] and paste the logs where it states the cmx and shave core usage.

yes we are using 4 lane MIPI cable for that. and sure I will check and get back.

also what's MRE ??

PS: If you recommend any MIPI cable that works perfectly, please share the link for me, if that's the problem, I will buy new one.

I meant the USB cable bandwidth. If you are using the mipi that came with the camera module, mipi most likely isn't the problem.

same 4k script on OAK_1 and
same 4k script on FFC3 + oak-1 camera sensor with MIPI cable attached.
