  • How to use the FSYNC mechanism to sync multiple devices?

The PoE cameras comes with the M8 connector that has FSYNC/STROBE signals, but I failed to find any tutorial of how to use them for camera syncing purpose. And also, is there any possibility of hooking genlock signals to the cameras?

Thanks!

    Hi YaoXue ,
We have some docs on it here (general HW syncing), but it's not that popular, so we haven't yet wrote full tutorial on how to use it. I have heard that a few companies designed their own M8 connector syncing equipment, and that's about it. We will also be developing something similar to this:

But we first need to update the current HW revision to be able to support it. For genlock (bnc coax) you'd need to develop a similar board as above. So overall it's possible, just not a plug&play system (yet)🙂 Thoughts?
    Thanks, Erik

Hi Erik, thank you for your reply. Is it true that the only connection i need is from STROBE(or FSYNC, please correct me) channel of the master camera to the FSYNC channel of the slave cameras? I'm asking so I may not need to do a full M8 connection box but just some simple jump wires on a bread board for early prototype.

And also, could you please share with me the conventions of the signal that triggers the FSYNC? How much volt, what wave form, duration and etc. Thanks!
