  • Auto Exposure with limited max integration time

Hi,

I'm planning on using OAK-D W cameras in an environment with variable lighting where motion blur control is very important. Has there been any progress since March related to adding a maximum integration time limit to the onboard auto exposure (https://github.com/luxonis/depthai-core/issues/304#issuecomment-997121371)? Aside from pulling down the preview stream and doing exposure control on host, are there any other options for controlling exposure with a bounded integration time?

Thanks,
Will

    Hi willd ,
I don't think so, as there really isn't much interest in this feature (no one has commented about this feature for almost a year). I think it would be best to bring it up on the github issue you linked, so we can also track customers' interest.
    Thanks, Erik

    Hi,
Since it is important to comment to show the interest to a feature request, I also consider that auto exposure without controling the maximal exposure time is a real issue in many many many use cases. Allowing the user to cap the exposure time would be a very nice improvement for many people i guess. ๐Ÿ™‚

      Hi Stevos ,
Best to create github issue (or showing support on existing one), as forum interest-tracking isn't the most efficient๐Ÿ™‚
      Thanks, Erik

This is a very important issue, and in many application scenarios, such an open interface is required. It is not that no one has mentioned it, but that many users have little understanding of the communication channels of Github and forums.
