Hi team,

I'm attempting to source some lower cost camera modules for a custom base board (using the RVC2 SoM). I've seen the supported sensors listed here: https://docs.luxonis.com/hardware/platform/sensors/sensors/, but they are specced above what I require, so I'm looking to understand what it would require to use an 'unsupported' camera module.

For example the following specs would suffice:

• VGA (640x480) resolution
• rolling shutter
• mono
• FPS >= 10

The OV7251 seems close but likely more expensive due to the global shutter.

Ignoring the physical connector would it be difficult to use modules like below?

Yeah for this use case the customer will have physical access to the device, so I'm just trying to understand what potential measures might be possible to increase the difficulty of simply taking the model and pipeline and using it elsewhere.

With physical access to the device can a user simply read the flash to recover the .dap file that was uploaded to standalone mode?

Thanks for the follow up. So it sounds like if given access to a .dap file a motivated user could relatively easy extract the model (blob) and use it in their own application?

Are you aware of any approaches that could be used to prevent this?
Eg. encrypting the .dap (or elements within the dap like the blob) and them being decrypted at runtime with factory configured key?

Thanks for the reply. Yeah that is my suspicion also, though I'll still try to follow this up to have a little higher confidence that distributing .dap files keeps their contents and model "private".

Hi All,

I have a question about the distribution of DepthAI pipelines using proprietary custom models.

I'm sure there isn't a single "correct" answer for this, but I'm trying to understand how one would best distribute such software for others to use without it being trivially easy for someone to reverse engineer it (for example extracting the model).

For example, would generating a dap (DepthAI Application Package) of a pipeline (to load onto a device in standalone mode) sufficiently obfuscate the pipeline and model to make it non-trivial to extract?

Hey Team,

Is there any way of serialising data based on a protobuf schema inside a depthai script node?

This link https://docs.luxonis.com/projects/api/en/latest/components/nodes/script/#available-modules-and-libraries doesn't look like it includes protobuf as a library, but is there any way of making this work?

FYI I plan on then sending this data over a SPI node.

Hi All!

Maybe someone in the community has solved the issue I'm having or has some ideas.

I have an IoT-40 S2 camera (https://github.com/luxonis/depthai-hardware/tree/master/NG2092_OAK-D-IoT-40) and am having trouble getting the SPI communication between the MyriadX and ESP32 working.

To replicate my issue:

• update the bootloader to latest version as of writing (0.0.24)
• run this example code from luxonis repo (https://github.com/luxonis/esp32-spi-message-demo/tree/main/script_node_communication)
• monitor esp32 with idf.py monitor

Expected result:

• ESP32 sends "Hello" via SPI
• MyriadX receives message and sends "World" as response

Actual result:

• ESP32 sends "Hello" via SPI
• MyriadX doesn't log that it receives the message, and doesn't send "World" back.

Worth noting that I also have tried this code on an IoT-40 and IoT-75 and it works for both.

If anyone has tried this and/or is aware of some simple config that I might be missing and need to change to make it work on the IoT-40 S2 that would be awesome. I have been comparing the schematics with the IoT-40 and am yet to become aware of any relevant differences for the SPI interface.
