  • That model looks great so far (I'll have to dig into details soon). I'm also thinking one facing downwards, and another facing sideways (connected cameras?=same image output? like RealSense?), then the plant is set on a rotating platform so that we can get full 3D reconstruction.

  • I'm setting up experiments to study circadian rhythm of plant via diurnal leaf movements (<hourly) and segment individual plants + plant parts for growth over time (daily). I seen the Luxonis series of depth cameras which look great and are in a good price range. But I'm concerned about resolution. For now, we're going to look at seedlings (<1cm long leaves early on) from ~30cm distance. Depth is great to record plant height over time and for meshing leaf surface area in processing. I don't really need video, pictures are enough. Is this the right kind of product? I was also looking at Intel RealSense.
