  • Connect to OAK-D Pro POE with M8 jack

Hi,
I've an application where I want to connect power and data from my Raspberry Pi to the OAK-D Pro PoE via the M8 jack instead of using an injector with PoE.
How should I go about this?
Many thanks,
Mark

Thanks erik. I might need to revisit PoE then as I want to connect an SBC to the PoE jack, but I couldn't find any PoE hats that do PSE.

I found an M.2 PoE PSE module that might allow me to connect an SBC to the OAK-D via PoE, I just need to need to change my choice SBC.

I may need to install many of these cameras at height using a scissor lift. So I'm keen to avoid as much wiring as possible. If I can avoid using injectors by spending a bit more time on the drawing board, it'll save me plenty of headaches onsite.

MarkLane how about connecting the OAK POE to a (poe) network and having all cameras connect to a computer(s) somewhere more accessible (not on the ceiling)? You could even connect multiple oak poes to a single RPi if you won't be streaming high-res frames.
        Thanks, Erik

That would be my preference, but I need to keep the SBC and camera close together in many instances.

I found an SBC and PoE PSE combo from Axiomtek, that should allow me some flexibility with how I install the cameras.

        Appreciate your advice @erik
