MartinStuder Hello community I wanted to ask if, with the OAK-1 camera, object detection works for night scenes illuminated with infrared light? If so, what wavelength is required? 940nm or 850nm? Thank you very much for your assistance. Greetings Martin
erik Hi MartinStuder , By default, OAK-1 has IR blocking filter in the CCM itself, so it can't perceive IR light. Our Pro versions have IR notch filter and can perceive 940nm. For larger batches, we can replace the CCMs on OAK cameras, more info here. Thoughts? Thanks, Erik
VivianPatterson Hi erik, do you know what the bandwidth of the notch filter is? If the notch is centered around 940nm, what range of wavelengths should the filter pass through? I'm hoping that the 850nm IR lights that we have will be detected by the camera.
erik Hi VivianPatterson , Here is the transmittance for the filter on our PRO devices: Note that only the newest batches have notch filters (not even sure whether we started shipping them), others have no IR filter.
VivianPatterson erik Thank you so much! I'm thinking I likely have one of the newer ones -- I placed the order on March 23rd of this year. Do you know when the newest batch was made?
erik Hi VivianPatterson , I am not sure, as we have quite some stock at our fulfillment center as well. We use a 850nm flashlight to determine whether a camera has such filters, they are quite cheap.
