  • OAK D Lite settings for caputing moving objects (30cms away)

Hi,
We've been using OAK D lite for detection and tracking. While everything works well, we observe that if our objects are moving, they are slightly blurred in frames (which hinders classical CV techniques we need). Are there any settings you recommend for this usage? We were using fixed focus but moved to Auto Focus because the objects were less than 50 cm away. That improved the frames, but moving objects are still not as sharp as we want them to be.

I just used a potato as an example to show the issue
Still object (sharp)

Same object but moving (blurred)

Thanks,
Sharad

    Hi msharad19 ,
It's a problem as global shutter cameras aren't great for such moving objects. I would suggest either illuminating the scene (to decrease exposure time -> less blurryness), or using global shutter sensor, so the mono camera on the OAK cam. Could you try that out?
    Thanks, Erik
