I would like to use the OAK to do some image processing on the camera itself and reduce latency.

Since we are not using neural networks, using the quad-core ARM A53 might be the most attractive solution.

My question is: how much latency should be expected on the A53, compared to this?

Shall we expect the time to acquire the camera frames to be the same or lower?

    Hi facontidavide ,
Since there would be no data transfer needed (eg. via USB3 to a computer using XLink), latency (so "photons to ARM") will be lower. We haven't done such tests yet though, but we would likely be in a position to do such tests easily in 2-3 months. Thoughts?
    Thanks, Erik

"photon to ARM" is exactly what I would love to know. I am looking forward to get those numbers in the next months!!!
Low latency is critical for our (commercial) application and the ability to move some computation on the camera is mostly driven by that need

Awesome! I believe we will update the low latency docs once we conclude series 3 oak latency tests, so keep an eye on those๐Ÿ™‚
