Oak 4 D FPS

From the spec sheet, the Oak 4 D says the color camera can do 480 FPS and the stereo pair camera can do 60 FPS. But in the Oak Viewer, I am only able to run both at 30 FPS. Also, I am using this camera inside TouchDesigner, but it is still only running at 30FPS. How do I set the camera to the max frame rate for both the color and the stereo pair?

Hey bradon - The 480 FPS value is an RGB high-frame-rate mode. To use it, you need a custom DepthAI v3 HFR pipeline, not the standard OAK Viewer or TouchDesigner pipeline. The supported 480 FPS mode is fixed at 1280×720.

Thanks @Oskar-Luxonis - Is there a reason the HFR workflow does not just exist on the camera as an app? That way it could be more accessible to the viewer and other Windows applications? For the HFR workflow then, I would basically have to develop my own apps in C++ is that correct?

Hey bradon - HFR is still an early-preview feature with only fixed modes, so it is not yet included in OAK Viewer or as a ready-to-install OAK App.

You do not need to use C++. We provide HFR examples in both Python and C++. You can run a Python DepthAI v3 pipeline on your Windows PC, or package one as an OAK App for the camera:
