Yes, you could do that, and it would be quite straightforward IMO. See a demo here. You can move the rectangle around, but you could also split the depth frame into eg. 4x3 grid and have 12 rectangles (ROIs), each measuring average (or minimal) of depth points in that ROI. Thoughts?
