OAK4S update failing

Hello,

I was trying to reconfigure two OAK4S cameras. I did factory reset them and then I used oakctrl to set them up. The devices asked for a firmware update and I started doing so for. Both updated stopped midway with different problems

this was the first:

oakctl command failed:

0: Failed to extract archive entry: no storage space

I tried to run the update again but it was failing to start. So I factory reset both devices again and now when I try to set them up or update them I get this error

Connecting ... oakctl command failed:

0: Incoming stream encountered an IO error (TLS connect): tls handshake eof

1: tls handshake eof

Both devices now have the breathing blue light.

What would be the reason for this to happen and how can I recover the devices from this status?

Hey MohamedAsker - I think the first error is because you ran out of storage on your pc, the second one could be linked to how you connected to the camera. For EDL you should be connecting with usb-c to usb-c cable directly into the computer... Do you maybe know the camera OS version? Also are you on windows/linux and how are you connecting to the camera? I think you will have to perform a full OS-update. You will see more ways to do it that are different based on which OS your camera has.

You can get OS version by typing oakctl device info. If your OS is new enough (it very probably is), you can update using oakctl device update directly from device (via ssh / adb).

for the two devices that are not working currently I cannot even connect to the devices. The blue light is breathing but when I try to get the status of the device using oakctl device infoor try to flash an OS I get the error that there are no devices connected.

I tried using only a USB-C to USB-C cable, and then connected the M5 cable to a PoE switch and connected my computer to the switch with Ethernet. The switch has a router connected to it and assigns IPs to all connected devices. I am not sure if this can interfere with the update process if the device needs to default to a predetermined IP or so.

I also tried factory resetting the devices but this didn't change anything and I still cannot connect to the devices
