OAK-D SR PoE with ToF to detect small objects

Hello! I'm working on a project to detect small samples that's about 3x3x2 cm.

I'm curious if the point cloud or depth image from this camera would be distinct enough to segment these samples or draw a 3D bounding box on it? There might be small reflective metals on one side, so I don't think the passive stereo would work that well, and am looking into adding ToF.

I've tried to find videos/demos but so far it's either detecting big boxes or tools.

Depends on the viewing distance, but generally yes, 3x3x2 is very doable. The reflective metals might be a problem since the tof also works by emitting the light first so reflective and transparent surfaces usually introduce measuring errors.
