We’re proud to highlight our work with Delicode, a forward-thinking computer vision company based in Finland. Their flagship platform, Signals Flow, is reshaping how cities understand and manage urban mobility—by delivering real-time, GDPR-compliant insights on pedestrians, vehicles, and curb usage.
Using Luxonis OAK cameras deployed across the Nordics, Delicode is enabling smarter urban design, better infrastructure planning, and more efficient curbside management.

A Scalable Vision System for the Public Realm
Delicode’s Signals Flow system is built from the ground up to support privacy-compliant urban analytics. Their camera-based deployments track people and vehicles in real time to:
Count foot and vehicle traffic across intersections and sidewalks
Track turning movements and vehicle trajectories
Monitor loading zone occupancy for delivery and logistics planning
Support long-term planning for streets, sidewalks, and bike lanes
Unlike typical traffic monitoring systems that require heavy infrastructure or cloud streaming, Delicode takes a lightweight, edge-first approach. By leveraging Luxonis OAK cameras with onboard AI inference, they’re able to run smart analytics right where the data is captured—on the device. This means your OAK can stream intelligence instead of sensitive data, a huge differentiator in regions with strict data protection regulations.

This unlocks key advantages for deployment in real-world urban environments:
No cloud connectivity required to operate and limited connectivity to pull inference data
Fully GDPR compliant—no video is stored or transmitted
Low-power, low-latency, remote-managed nodes built for scale
Delicode typically uses either an OAK-1 W PoE camera, which is able to capture large scenes with its 120-degree field of view, or the depth-reading OAK-D CM4 PoE that comes equipped with a Raspberry Pi and 4G router. Both come inside a custom IP67 rated enclosure with PoE connectors, creating a self-contained unit ready for installation on poles, traffic lights, or other existing street infrastructure.
Why Delicode Chose Luxonis
When Delicode began building out Signals Flow, they needed vision hardware that could check a lot of boxes: edge compute, ruggedness, flexible form factors, easy setup, and long-term reliability—especially in harsh outdoor conditions.
“For us, the OAK CM4 PoE represents a convenient form factor and platform that has enabled us to have a flexible and fast rollout of both our existing as well as some new technology into the smart city market sector.”
— Delicode team
In colder months, Delicode’s smart nodes face temperatures as low as –30°C, with summer highs reaching over +30°C. In their words:
“We knew we’d be putting these devices outside where they would get exposed to the realities of the Finnish climate… Fortunately for us, the OAK has proven to be worthy of its name—as sturdy as a tree.”
As they’ve scaled, Delicode has also adopted the OAK-1 W PoE variant for wider-angle coverage in dense urban spaces—helping capture more scene context without additional devices or infrastructure.

Why Luxonis is the Right Fit
Luxonis devices are purpose-built for scenarios like this—where real-world edge deployments need to balance performance, privacy, and practicality. Here’s what made our hardware a strong fit for Delicode’s use case:
On-device AI inference removes the need for cloud compute or on-site servers while ensuring GDPR compliance, keeping the public's data safe
PoE-powered hardware simplifies power + data into a single cable
Compact and IP-rated enclosures perform reliably year-round, even in freezing and wet environments
Affordable per-unit costs make large-scale deployments financially viable for municipalities
Flexible SDK and support enable fast prototyping, integration, and iteration
And because Luxonis supports a broad product range with modular firmware and open APIs, companies like Delicode can pick the right camera configuration for each deployment—without rewriting their entire pipeline.

With a growing footprint across Finland and the Nordics, Delicode is helping municipalities better understand how streets, sidewalks, and curb space are used—without relying on surveillance, cloud storage, or invasive data collection.
Whether it’s tracking pedestrian safety near busy intersections or managing curbside loading zones for delivery logistics, their Signals Flow platform is proving how practical and effective edge-based vision systems can be in modern urban planning.
We’re proud to support this kind of impactful work, and excited to continue collaborating as Delicode expands its smart city solutions across Europe.
If you’re in the smart city space or looking to bring AI-powered mobility insights to your own city, Delicode is actively seeking partners throughout Europe.
