Getting Started with OAK-D Lite and DepthAI

Hello,

I recently found a YouTube recording by a computer science student demonstrating the OAK‑D Lite with DepthAI. It was advanced for me, as I’m just getting started. I purchased the OAK‑D Lite camera. My immediate goal is to learn the camera and run a sample application using the DepthAI SDK. Is the following link a good primer to get up to speed?

After completing that, I plan to mount the camera on my DJI Air 3 and proceed to the next steps. Am I on the right track? Any help would be much appreciated.

Yes. This will give you the basics of how each node works. If you want to test out more complex examples, check out luxonis/oak-examples as well.

Thank you for your reply. I’m curious about communication between the DJI drone and the OAK‑D Lite using the DepthAI SDK. It seems to me there must be an integration layer between the drone and those components. Does that make sense?

I am not really familiar with how the DJI drones operate, but I would assume you have a python library that does the communication between the drone and the PC.

Why would the PC do in this architecture? What is running in the PC?
