Calibration tools for OAK4 cameras

Hi Everyone,

I haven't been able to find any documentation or tools for calibrating OAK4 devices. The current calibration scripts as per this documentation and this git repository only support RCV2/RCV3 devices. I don't see any board options for OAK4 devices here.

I did ask the Luxonis AI assistant the same and what I was told was that there is no public support yet for the calibration tools for OAK4 devices. I wanted to confirm with you if that is the case?

We want to calibrate the cameras for our setup and the way it is positioned ( it is at an angle (not perpendicular) to the plane we want to inspect). In this case is there another way to calibrate the OAK4 cameras?

You're right — the current public calibration tools (calibrate.py) only support RVC2/3 devices. OAK‑4 devices (RVC4) are not yet supported publicly for calibration…

That said, all OAK‑4 cameras come factory-calibrated (intrinsics + stereo), so in most cases, you don’t need to re-calibrate. If your setup is mounted at an angle, you can adjust for that in software by applying a pose transformation from the camera frame to your inspection plane(OpenCV’s PnP / Charuco workflow) — no need to overwrite the factory calibration.
