Hello,

I'm looking to add HDR support to my camera setup. Currently, I am using OAK-4P boards and IMX577 modules. For the short term, I'm just taking multiple images at different exposures and merging them together, but I'd like to get actual hardware HDR support.

From what I can see, my options are:

  1. Use an FFC-6P board, which has RVC3 and HDR (https://docs.luxonis.com/hardware/platform/rvc/rvc3#Robotics%20Vision%20Core%203%20(RVC3)-RVC3%20HDR%20support)
  2. Switch to an IMX582 or IMX708 module.

Are there any other options? I need to roughly keep the 75 degree HFOV of my current IMX577, so a sensor with an M12 lens like the IMX708 seems like the easiest option to me. It looks like the 6P is discontinued as well?

    Tom
Switch to IMX582 or IMX708 are currently your only options. Or RVC4 IMX586.

    Thanks,
    Jaka

I purchased some IMX708 modules, but I'm having trouble connecting them to the 4P board.

      Module: https://www.arducam.com/arducam-12mp-imx708-wide-angle-camera-module-for-nvidia-jetson-orin-nx-orin-nano-agx-orin.html

The module has a 22 pin connection, and comes with 22-22 pin cables (opposite side contacts). Using a 22-26 pin cable (UC-796), I was able to connect it to the 4P, but it is not recognized. I also tried to put one of the opposite contact 22 pin cables in the chain using a cable connector, thinking it was related to the pins flipping, but that just resulted in blinking LEDs indicating a power issue.

      Do I need the adapter? - https://shop.luxonis.com/products/oak-ffc-2rpi-tbd

I ordered a few of these but support contacted me to tell me they are out of stock. Is there another way to get these modules working on the 4P board?

Support was really helpful and was able to get some modules out to me!

It would also be helpful to confirm that these adapter modules will resolve my problem. Here is what I think it should look like:

      IMX708 (22 pin) -> UC-376 (22 pin to 15 pin) -> SL6996 Adapter -> UC-796 (22 pin to 26 pin) -> OAK 4P

      Thanks!

        Hi Tom
IMX708 (22 pin) -> UC-796 (22 pin to 26 pin) -> OAK 4P should be fine. And make sure to switch to imx708 branch for now and use install_requirements.py script there.

        Thanks,
        Jaka
