Streaming depth data in standalone mode

Is it possible to stream the depth output of the StereoDepth node in standalone mode (via MQTT, for example with the OAK-D Pro POE)? I haven't come across any example of this.
Since the depth pixels are 16 bit they cannot be encoded using the VideoEncoder node, so I am wondering if sending out the raw data is the only option?

It seems that MQTT payload can be byte array. So inside script node you could do:

depthImg = node.io["depth"].get()
data = depthImg.getData()
# send data as the payload. Make sure to unpack the bytearray correctly after you receive it
