OAK D Pro W POE Camera Connection using POE Converter

I am using a OAK D Pro W POE Camera, All i do is to connect the camera with a POE Converter(GPOE-48V10W) and then connect it with to the laptop. As, I am beginner to use POE devices, i am not confirmed is it connected properly or not but i cannot ping my camera. My question is that if i used the connector, still i need a POE Switch or Injector? and if not so is it okay to use a POE converter ethernet cable in laptop?

Hi @imran
The specs for the adapter look fine.
Could you check if device_manager.py script finds it?
Try disconnecting other internet interfaces (WIFI).
Try opening the device to see if leds turn on after plugging in the device.
Also an image of the setup would help, just to make sure.

I run the device_manager.py script and check with both steps

1: Disabling other internet interfaces

2: enable a wifi within same range of camer

but still, i cannot get any information about my camera. Below is the rsult of device

Below is the setup connection of camera. POE Converter is plugin the main switch and then my camera is connected to the POE Converter and the Ethernet cable of POE converter ois connected to my laptop.

Hi @imran
Seems you are using some older version of device manager?
Try running ifconfig and check if there is an eth interface there. IP should be 169.254.1.222. Also could you check if any lights are on on the PCB (open the device).

After running the ifconfig , i didn't find the eth interface there. and also after opening the camera their is one blue light on the back of PCB.

Hi @imran
There should be a light blinking on the PCB (behind the dot projector- see image when plugged in. This is the ETH port blinking.

Finally, i connected the camera successfully. The problem is with the Power to the camera because the POE Injector (I mentioned above) and the POE Power Adapter (https://egpis.co.kr/mall/shopbrand_view.php?navi=Y&uid=11608) both didn't work for me. The only one work for me is to use the M8 connector.

Now, I need your suggestion that which POE injector or POE Switch i have to used. I am using (http://ft.twowinit.com:10008/logs/app/dist/#/deviceInfo?devSn=T2082024040030) and inside the Nvidia Orign Nano.

Hi @imran
I don't understand anything on the pages you have sent 🙂. You usually can't go wrong with a netgear or tplink POE switches. I would advise against injectors since I've had issues with them in the past.
