get oak model name

Hi!

I have a setup where both oak 1 and oak 1 lites may be used. but since the sensors are different they require different configs. Is there a way to read out the model of the oak so that I can apply the correct config for the camera?

I'd prefer if the name was in the usb descriptor so that I can connect to the camera with the correct config. Unfortunately there doesn't seem to be any noticeable difference between the models when I run for example lsusb -v.

You should be able to get the information you need after connecting to the device and then starting the appropriate pipeline based on the device's name or sensor.

so i tried it with my cameras and it's a bit confusing.

the standard oak-1 is reporting as "OAK-1-AF" which is ok. but the oak-1 lite is reporting "OAK-1"

can I assume that a device reporting as "OAK-1" is always a oak-1 lite?

The product name is not flashed correctly it seems. It should have "lite" in the name.

So how do I solve this?

I have 4 lites and all of them report wrong. And down the line we will buy more so I need a future-proof solution that will also work when you have fixed the name.

Can I flash them with the correct name?

Or, can I assume that a standard oak 1 will report as an "OAK-1-AF" and therefore assume that "OAK-1" and "OAK-1-LITE" will be lite models?

What models report only as "OAK-1" ?

If I buy more units, have you fixed this issue?

It's a factory issue, which we will fix. A possible workaround for the time being is checking the connected sensors during runtime: device.getConnectedCameraFeatures() and differentiating based on the color sensor used (IMX214 for lite, IMX378 standard).
