How to dynamically turn on/off OAK D IoT 40?

Hello.

I plan to acquire a luxonis device. Beforehand i wan't to know if i can program the module to turn itself off while i'm automatically charging a battery (the battery powers the oak) with a solar panel; then turn it back on once a lapse of time passes. Can this functionality be programmed into the device using the integrated esp32? Thanks in advance.

I am only aware of the possibility to reset the MyriadX from the ESP32, I'm not sure if it can also cut off the power when using battery. I will ask HW engineers and get back to you. Otherwise holding the reset pin will reduce power consumption of VPU to about 100mA.

Update: This would be possible only with the IOT-40-LIPO version (so nearly identical to the OAK-D-IOT-40) - you could control the VPU power line via MOSFET from the ESP32. This was a custom design so we don't officially sell it.

Thanks! Anything that can drastically reduce power consumption in a scheduled manner will work; even if the functionality is only available by connecting the module to a host device like a raspberry pi.

So that would actually be much simpler, you could just turn off the RPI USB power when you are not using the camera, stackoverflow solution here.
