Hi, I have 2 specific questions, looking forward for inputs: 1. I am trying to run certain gen-2 python program on Raspberry Pi Zero, even though all requirements are met I get error "illegal instruction", did some research and found: a) gen 2 programs are not compatible with Raspberry Pi zero, if this is true, this question becomes irrelevant, if it's false, please let me know how to resolve the error. b) I thought this may be OpenCV version issue, tried various options using both pip install as well as sudo apt install commands, same error persists. 2. how to get output frame to show in fullscreen mode, general solution mentioned below which works for me on Ubuntu and non-depthai cameras, it doesn't seem to work with depthAI cv2.namedWindow("window", cv2.WND_PROP_FULLSCREEN) cv2.setWindowProperty("window",cv2.WND_PROP_FULLSCREEN,cv2.WINDOW_FULLSCREEN) cv2.imshow("window", img) Please let me know if there is anything specific which we need to do to make app run in fullscreen mode. Hi Ram, This is an extremely well timed question. So the reason for the trouble on Pi Zero is because the Armv6 wheels would not build correctly in Pi Wheels. But actually today this was fixed: https://github.com/piwheels/piwheels/pull/276 So now prebuilt wheels will work from now on on pi zero. This is quite convenient for Pi Zero folks using DepthAI. :-) The thing I don't know is how long it will take for DepthAI (and OpenCV) to build for Pi Zero. As I think there's automation that we don't have control of involved. I think @"GergelySzabolcs"#62 may know though. Thanks, Brandon

Yes, that's right WRT the release. We have a pre-built binary somewhere that we built actually on a Pi Zero too, if you didn't want to wait. I can't immediately find it but it's on this forum... somewhere. So on the second question, I dodged it because I don't know. Eeeh. :-). @"dhruvsheth-ai"#147 probably knows though. :-)

I've tried all possible options, doesn't seem to work, I have seen in some tutorials that depthai python program runs on RPi startup...so thought is easier to ask in this forum to get tried and tested method rather than experimenting. Hi @"ramkunchur"#p1479 it seems you're correct. I couldn't find a way to initialise the depthai python script in the preferred environment when the raspberry Pi boots up. However I'm working on this and I hope to get back with a solution by tomorrow.

Nevertheless, I'll wait for your response, not able to automatically run python program on startup might be a big issue as not all apps can be started manually, especially standalone embedded devices, so there has to be solution for this. I'm able to run the app in fullscreen mode...it is by making some modifications, if I use inRgb.getCvFrame(), I get output in full-screen mode but this doesn't have my inference results shown, modified the code which I had shared earlier and able to get in full screen....thanks for providing inputs...

Regarding start up... the crontab solution doesn't work as well, reason is if we use sudo python, we get an error unable to find module import depthai.

We need to figure this out...it's quite important..

We have an example to make it start on startup of the pi. We use it on the Pi compute module DepthAI. It was counterintuitive IIRC. so I don’t recall how to do it right away. Will ask.

OK, @GergelySzabolcs found it for us. :-)

In /etc/xdg/autostart/runai.desktop the following needs to be set:

[Desktop Entry]
Encoding=UTF-8
Name=RunAI
Exec=lxterminal -e "/home/pi/depthai/autostart/startupdemo"
Icon=lxterminal
Type=Application

Which is a path to this file: https://github.com/luxonis/depthai/blob/main/autostart/startupdemo

And this is what allowed us to run anything on the Pi after the desktop is loaded and ready. The problem we ran into is that normal bash scripts would run before the OS was fully booted/ready/etc. so would error out on not being able to display OpenCV window/etc.

So the GPIO stuff can be removed when running on a regular Pi instead of a OAK-D-CM4 or OAK-D-CM3, as on a regular Pi those IO will not go to the OAK-SOM reset lines (they'd just go nowhere).

Thoughts?

No extension, but it's a shell script, the first line in the file tells the caller of the executable text file (startupdemo) which interpreter to use, in this case bash is specified, this is also known as shebang.
You can add .sh extension if you prefer.

Openvino is not required, unless you want to do model conversion locally. There is a better alternative for it though, doing conversion online: http://luxonis.com:8080/
