OAK-FFC-6P : system recovery

Hello,

I recently attempted to update the Luxonis OS Image on the OAK-FFC-6P. However, after the update, I noticed that LED1 was not lit. Following the instructions in the manual (link: [https://docs.google.com/document/d/1r3en4EqgDG3hum8o5yS1DJ5vSCb6aNqyA38tIM8723U/edit]), I tried to perform a system recovery.

During this process, I encountered the following error:

/home/daehyun/Downloads/ffc_img/data.img is a valid data image

Unable to find or flash PCIe devices due to missing drivers. If you intend to flash a PCIe device, please install the drivers and rerun the tool

This error occurred while trying to flash the firmware.

And I also attempted same procedure with fip-oak-ffc-6p-rev-1.2.0 , But encountered same issues.

I would appreciate any assistance or guidance on how to resolve this issue.

Hi Daehyun
Looks like it's trying to access the device through PCIe which won't work on 6P.

Could you try this command instead:
flashtool flashall -d usb [fip-of-the-device.bin] boot.img data.img system.img syshash.img

I think I might have forgotten to include the '-d' option earlier.

However, I encountered a different error when I executed the following command:

Initially, it seemed like the USB was recognized and the device entered flash mode, but then the connection was lost. Why might this be happening?
(I obviously entered recovery mode by holding down the 'boot' button while plugging in the device.)

Try setting the UDEV rules:

Ensure your user is in the plugdev group

We had some similar issues when flashing multiple devices at once - sometimes one would not come back online after a fip flash.
We suspected it was a power issue.

Any chance you could try reflashing on a different USB port/USB hub - preferably powered one?

I have already tried in many different environments (USB, Desktop), and I also used a power adapter, so I think this issue is not related to power.

Could you try flashing the FIP, and then powercycling the device:

flash FIP
wait for FIP flashed to device: 42D2D016838860C6 Waiting 30s before reenumerating to appear
unplug the device
replug it whilst holding the boot button

It still appears that the device status has not changed to OS recovery mode from FIP recovery mode after FIP was flashed.
