OAK-1-POE No ethernet comms after reset

Hi,

I have an OAK-1-POE for which I did not know the IP - it had been working OK to date I believe. Number on the PCB is SJ2C96POE.

I followed the guide to flash the new bootloader by USB (DIP switches 2,4,5 up) and was eventually successful, however I cannot get any ethernet communication working, there are no LEDs lighting up on the connection, but when connected by ethernet POE the leds on the board light up OK. The POE switch is fine - we have 3 other cameras here working fine. I installed the libraries this morning with the latest available on Git.

I put the dip switched back to 5 and 6 up, still no lights on the network connection. There are a lot of error messages popping up in the device manager.

Any advice here would be greatly appreciated. How can I get the ethernet communication working ?

If the device manager detects the device, then the ethernet communication is working fine. I you have problems, I would suggest first updating the depthai versions - currently latest is:

depthai: 2.23.0
depthai_sdk: 1.13.1

then try to do a factory reset, then update the bootloader to the latest version.

Hi Jaka,

thanks for your response. Apologies I wasn't clear, I have only managed to connect to the device over USB. I can see that the device gets powered by POE OK, but nothing indicates ethernet comms working OK. I have tried with the latest versions of depthai and depthai-sdk, I can successfully factory reset but I cannot read IP configuration, and the lights do not come on on the ethernet connector

I'd check the DIP switch again in case some connection was not made when switching back and forth. If the device is not connected to a router/layer3 switch, the IP should be 169.254.1.222. Can you ping the device? Or is there no ethernet communication at all?

Hi Jaka,

Apologies for the delayed response. I have tried multiple combinations of the DIP switches and there is no ethernet communication at all, I set my ethernet adapter to 169.254.1.254 and I cannot ping it when connected via POE switch. The DIP switches dont appear to be damaged or anything so I fear it might be an internal electronic fault, is there anything else I can check?

billyhorgan Have you tried to do factory reset with NETWORK bootloader? It might also be that DIP switch got broken (we have seen it 1 time), one option is to measure resistance between the pins (that switch should connect).

Hi @erik , I tried both yesterday and got the same results, very strange. Connected via USB, the network bootloader reset worked OK. I checked each dip switch, and we have open circuit / continuity as expected. I dont have the camera with me now, but I will try a wireshark capture next week and see if there is any more information available this way
