Best configuration for Pro POE W

Hi all!

We're evaluating the Pro POE W camera to try and improve our FOV for our product. However, we are seeing quite some discrepancies for distance measurements when we point the Pro (Non-W) and Pro (W) at the same scene. Is there any specific configuration changes I should do to ensure I'm getting an accurate distance measurement between the two cameras?

What kind of discrepancies are you experiencing- how much of a difference? Usually the wide FOV lenses will have a bit more distortion, especially at the edges.
Perhaps there is a need for recalibration?

Well, for one of our scenes - an object identified in the middle of the scene registers as 6m away with standard camera and 11.5m away with the wide-angle.

What sort of calibration is required? I have never needed to do anything with the standard camera - is the wide-angle different in this way?

That's too big of a difference. What about the normal depth imaging; for example, if you try https://docs.luxonis.com/projects/api/en/latest/samples/SpatialDetection/spatial_location_calculator/?

Are the coordinates (mainly Z) right? If not I suggest you do a recalibration by following this guide.

The coordinates are mainly Z - but the calibration page does note that OAK cameras are pre-calibrated, why would this be different? I'm happy to do the calibration, but it seem like this is something the factory should be doing, not me?

I haven't had a chance to try the spatial location calculator - my existing software works just find with standard cameras, so seems like something more fundamental is going on here.

I'd like to see the spatial location calculator when you get the chance. The oak devices (compact) come pre-calibrated, but the calibration may be faulty or there might have been slight bends in the device due transportation or something. Not sure. Best to check.
