Hi everyone, I just bought an OAK-1 and was wondering if it's possible to do an embedded solution without an OS host. My idea is to attach a dev board nordic to OAK and send all the data processed at OAK to Nor and, after, to a gateway. But there's no clear information found by me informing that it's possible to run OAK in an OSless system

    Hi Lucas_Lima,

DepthAI devices including the OAK-1 run a POSIX RTOS. We are currently working on a solution to allow users to run code directly on DepthAI using microPython. It likely won't be available until late February at the earliest.

We are about to release a few BW1097 boards with a Raspberry Pi Compute Module 4 that is already integrated into DepthAI. Let me know if that's of interest and I can see if we can reserve one for you!

If your development board runs Linux and supports USB then it should be easy to connect to the OAK-1 over USB. Do you have a particular board in mind?

    Best,
    Philip

    Hi Philip,
The initial idea was to do all the computing at OAK and then send the data to a dev nordic. I'm not the hardware specialist, so, I came up with the doubt about the possibility to do the project without an OS. With your answer I guess it won't be possible... So, guess I'm moving to a raspi 0 or something like this. If you know any other solution cheaper than a Raspberry Pi, I'll be glad to hear from you.
    Thank you for your reply,
    Lucas.
