dexter I have been looking for a device to offload networks that aren't directly connected to a camera for added processing power. First I was thinking of Intel's stick, but they stopped making it. Is anything available other than getting an extra camera...?
erik Hi dexter , Maybe having a more capable host, eg. one of the nvidia's jetson series, which can also run NNs? Thanks, Erik
dexter Hi erik My host is a windows computer. Since I now have an ecosystem set up around the OAK it would be nice to be able to extend it as seamlessly as possible. Like just moving some NNs to a different device and update the pipes... I'll read some more about the jetson.
dexter Is there a way to make e.g. an Nvidia Jetson Nano behave like an OAK camera in the sense that it just connects via USB to a host and makes the GPU resources available for NNs? (I don't want to relocate my app/host into the ARM CPU.)
erik Hi dexter , No not really, DepthAI only works on OAK hardware - which is our whole business model. Thanks, Erik
dexter Hi erik OAK is really nice with different models for cameras etc., but I wondered why there aren't any options in the line-up for increased GPU power. I guess the idea really is to use a host with NN capabilities and run them outside depthAI?
erik Hi dexter , It's because all current devices use exactly the same chip (ai accelerator). We are working on RVC3 (different chip) and also researching about rvc4 (no info yet), which will have more AI power. Thoughts? Thanks, Erik
